CEDARVILLE, OHIO, Sept. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)<\/a> — Cedarville University <\/a>welcomed\u00a0a record 7,542 students this fall across its residential and online undergraduate,\u00a0graduate\u00a0and dual enrollment programs.<\/p>\n

Fall 2026 enrollment\u00a0represents\u00a0a 3.8% increase from the previous year and marks the largest student body in Cedarville\u2019s history.\u00a0This is Cedarville\u2019s 17<\/strong>th<\/strong>\u00a0consecutive record enrollment<\/strong> since 2009 when approximately 3,100 students were enrolled. The university is grateful for continued growth as it\u00a0seeks\u00a0to faithfully steward each student and remain committed to its mission.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s enrollment includes 1,289 first-year residential and online undergraduate students, 99\u00a0transfers\u00a0and 1,633\u00a0new\u00a0dual-enrolled students.\u00a0Cedarville also reported an 88.2% freshman-to-sophomore retention rate.\u00a0The national retention rate,\u00a0according to the National Center for Education Statistics,\u00a0is 79% to 81%.\u00a0The total number of high school students enrolled in the university\u2019s Christian school partner and online dual enrollment courses climbed to\u00a02,367.<\/p>\n

With\u00a0796\u00a0students\u00a0in\u00a0The Graduate School<\/a>,\u00a0enrollment\u00a0increased\u00a013.7% from the previous year.\u00a0Cedarville offers\u00a0more than 50\u00a0master\u2019s,\u00a0doctoral, and graduate certificate\u00a0programs, including\u00a0its two\u00a0newest offerings: the Master of Theological Studies and Master of Arts in Communication and Organizational Leadership. Last year, Cedarville also announced the launch of Cedarville Theological Seminary<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Growth is also occurring in Cedarville\u2019s\u00a0new\u00a0online undergraduate\u00a0programs, known as Cedarville Online. The university\u00a0now enrolls 100 students in its\u00a0online undergraduate programs, up from 62 students during the program\u2019s first year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cedarville\u2019s\u00a010\u00a0online undergraduate programs include accounting,\u00a0biblical and theological studies,\u00a0communication, finance, information technology management, management, primary P-5 education, psychology, sport\u00a0business\u00a0management\u00a0and smart start (general education).\u00a0\u00a0Students\u00a0can enroll in these programs\u00a0without\u00a0relocating\u00a0to the university\u2019s Ohio campus.<\/p>\n

Cedarville\u2019s continued enrollment strength reflects the university\u2019s expanding range of undergraduate,\u00a0graduate\u00a0and professional programs, including rigorous health care programs in pharmacy, nursing, allied\u00a0health\u00a0and physician assistant studies.<\/p>\n

White said the university is seeking to balance continued enrollment growth with its long-term institutional mission.\u00a0<\/p>\n
